Our Eggnog French Toast is an easy holiday breakfast made with thick slices of bread soaked in a rich, spiced eggnog custard and cooked to golden perfection.

Eggnog French Toast is my favorite breakfast upgrade.
I love making Eggnog French Toast during the holidays because it instantly makes any morning feel festive and cozy. The eggnog adds the perfect hint of nutmeg and sweetness, and it’s such a fun way to use up leftover eggnog in the fridge. My kids get excited every time I make it, and I love that it’s easy enough for a lazy weekend but special enough for Christmas morning. You can use store-bought eggnog, but I recommend my homemade eggnog recipe!I
I adapted this from my traditional French Toast recipe, where I use flour in the batter to give it a richer “custard” texture and taste.

How to make Eggnog French Toast:
Mix Batter: In a blender (or a shallow dish with a whisk), combine all the ingredients except for the bread until smooth then pour into a shallow dish. I prefer using the blender so it fully incorporates the flour – if you're using a whisk, it may have small flour lumps and that's okay.
Dip and Cook: Dip a slice of bread in the egg mixture on both sides then immediately place on hot greased skillet. Cook for a few minutes until the bottom is golden brown. Flip and cook the other side the same.
Serve: Enjoy with cinnamon syrup or regular syrup and a sprinkle of cinnamon. This is such a fun holiday breakfast or brunch recipe! I love the festive flavor and creaminess the eggnog gives.

Eggnog French Toast
Ingredients
- 8 thick slices bread , we like sara lee artesana or brioche
- 4 large eggs , room temperature
- 2/3 cup eggnog , store-bought or homemade
- 1 Tablespoon light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions

Preheat griddle to 350 degrees F or heat a skillet over medium heat.

Add all ingredients, except the bread, to a blender or to a shallow dish and whisk well to combine. If whisking by hand, it's okay if the flour doesn't mix in completely smooth.

Grease skillet with butter or non-stick spray. Dip the bread in the batter and turn to generously coat both sides.

Place on hot skillet and cook for a few minutes, until the bottom of the bread starts to get golden brown. Flip and cook on the other side the same.

Serve with cinnamon syrup or regular syrup and dust with extra cinnamon.
